Meet the Doctor

Meet Dr. William Schlesinger, DDS, MAGD, ABGD, AFAAID

zc4Dr. William Schlesinger DDS, MAGD, ABGD, AFAAID was born in Brooklyn, New York and graduated from Brooklyn College in 1984.  He received his doctoral degree from one of the country’s top rated dental schools, The State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine in 1988.  Moving back to the New York metropolitan area, Dr. Schlesinger was a resident and then chief resident in Dentistry at Long Island Jewish Hospital.  Upon completion of his residency in 1990, Dr. Schlesinger became a member of the house staff at Queens General Hospital, a position he held until 2001. As Assistant Attending he was able to give back to the program that helped make him a highly trained clinician. At the same time Dr. Schlesinger started private practice as an associate in several practices including those of some of his instructors from the hospital program. Dr. Schlesinger is a member of many professional organizations including the American Board of General Dentistry (ABGD),  Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), and the American Dental Association.


In June of 2014, it was determined that Dr. Schlesinger had successfuly completed the stringent requirements that must be earned through education, training and examination to become a Assocaite Fellow of the AAID. Upon completion of that thorough review put forth by the Admissions and Credentials Board of the AAID, they recommended that the AAID Board of Trustees elect Dr. Schlesinger to be an Associate Fellow of the America Academy of Implant Dentistry.   Established in 1951, the AAID is steadfastly dedicated to top quality patient care and to research, education and excellence in implant dentistry. zc6Dr. Schlesinger received his Mastership from The Academy of General Dentistry in 2006.  The organization, whose mission statement is, “to serve the needs and to represent the interests of general dentists and to foster their continued proficiency through quality continuing dental education in order to better serve the public,” challenges it’s members to become Fellows and then subquently to become Masters. It is the highest distinction that  a member can achieve through thier continuing education program. (For more information on the AGD visit  Currently there are only 2,200 members (about 2% of the dentists in the United Sates of America) who have received Mastership in the AGD (MAGD).

In 2009 Dr. Schlesinger became Board Certified by the American Board of General Dentistry (ABGD). The Board’s mission is to elevate the standards and advance the sciences and arts of General Dentistry by encouraging its study and improving the practice.  Currently there are only about 700 dentists who have successfully challenged the Board’s rigorous three part examination. zc1In 1998 Dr. Schlesinger opened his own practice within Eastside Professional Associates, establishing roots on the upper east side of Manhattan. There he has been able to watch his practice grow every year since its inception. It is Dr. Schlesinger’s goal to provide the highest possible care to his patients. Treating everyone as if it was his health or that of a family member assures the highest standard of care no matter what type or level of treatment is given.

It is this “Dedication to Excellence” that separates Dr. Schlesinger apart from the ordinary.
